DO WE CONSIDER FACEBOOK...A THREAT?

It's sort of interesting how lately people seem to revolve everything around Facebook and most of our activities include Facebook and our communication is based on Facebook. But do we believe facebook is becoming a threat? Is there too much facebook going on in our lifes and do we think that faceboo will ever be old and old fashioned just like Myspace? and Lastly, do you think Facebook will get replaced?
Let's rewind a bit and discuss what facebook is and learn a few facts of facebook. Facebook is a free access social network website. We use facebook mainly to gain and to keep in touch with people around us and to find friends we lost for years.
Facebook began on 2004 and was founded by a Harvard Student Mark Zuckerberg.
Ever since then the growth of facebook has been growing fast at a high rate and there are more than 100,000 registrations a day.
the website receives around 15 billion views each month with 31 million active users.

There are many reasons why people use facebook while on the other hand, there are many disadvantages of course.
Lets begin with the obvious advantages, used to keep in contact with people and it is free. It allows you to add photos, reconnect with past friendships, live chat, comment on blogs/profiles, birthdays and to be aware of events
While on the other hand, facebook is a danger regarding the privacy of each use.
At first when you create a profile, your page is public so that anyone can see it, and most people are lazy or just dont adjust settings on their privacy. Therefore your information is at risk and employers look at your profile before employing you and then might decide whether emplying you or not.

Facebook is a danger too because a report says that John Brown University recently expelled a student whose profile suggested he was engaging in homosexual behavior.

After reading all this, what do we think of facebook now?
